Butler County Medical Society Foundation

The Butler County Medical Society Foundation was formed in 2000 in an effort to support the Butler County Medical Society through scholarship opportunities for medical students, and the education of the general public on current health issues and concerns.

Scholarships

The Foundation funds scholarships through donations made by Butler County Medical Society members.  Every year scholarships are awarded based on need and the availability of funds.  Students must be Butler County residents who are enrolled in an approved medical school to be eligible for a scholarship.

Grants

Donations and contributions also determine funding for educational grants.  Grants are awarded in areas which will increase public health and safety.  Previously the foundation has educated students about the horrors of tobacco use through a "Tar Wars" program as well as donated educational literature in an effort to prevent skin cancer  to more than 50 public and private schools throughout Butler County.
